Youth Summer Canoe Clinic

KA NAI'A SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM

Come enjoy the experience and challenges of kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and team paddling, taught through professional coaching and supervision.

We look forward to your participation in the Ka Nai'a Outrigger Kayak and Stand-up Paddling Clinic!  All activities will take place within the Santa Barbara Harbor. All participants will wear life vests while kayaking, outrigger canoeing and stand-up paddling.

(A copy of the Daily Schedule is provided below.)

On the first day of the clinic all participants will have to demonstrate that they can tread water and pass a non-competitive 25-yard swim test.
You should arrive promptly each day wearing a swim suit and have sun block applied before arrival.

We will have a 15 minute morning nutritional break each day.  Please make this a light refueling snack such as fruit or a power bar.

Ka Nai'a is the official Paddling Program for the Santa Barbara Parks & Recreation Aquatics Program.  Our Summer Paddling Camp introduces the youth of Santa Barbara to the sport of paddling while building confidence, teamwork and friendships.

Juniors ages 8 - 16 learn to paddle with professional coaching and supervision. Your child will have fun as they experience the challenges of kayaking and team paddling. This clinic includes paddling techniques, canoe and water safety, team competition, swimming and surfing. All equipment is provided.
